AMD Ryzen 7 3700U Mid-Range Laptop CPU

The AMD Ryzen 7 3700U is a mid-range laptop processor commonly found in the mainstream laptop PCs. It is a good solution for the daily home and office tasks. The chip can effortlessly handle these tasks and additionally provide some decent potential for heavier duties like video editing. But, it is not a full-blown workstation-class processor specifically designed for heavy tasks. On the positive side, the 15-Watt Ryzen 7 3700U doesn’t require as much power as typical high-performance workstation & gaming processors that consume 45 Watts and it runs cooler.

The four main computing cores of the AMD Ryzen 7 3700U perform similar to cores of the cheaper Ryzen 5 3500U. However, the Ryzen 7 3700U has the Radeon Vega 10 integrated graphics instead of slower Vega 8 of the Ryzen 5. That means smoother gaming on the Ryzen 7. But, the Vega 10 is still a low-end graphics processor capable of running light games and select heavier titles on low graphics detail settings. Regarding the competing Intel processors, the Ryzen 7 3700U performs similar to the 8th Generation Intel Core i3 and i5 U-series processors.
