AMD Radeon 610M Graphics of Ryzen Laptop CPUs

AMD Radeon 610M Graphics of Ryzen 3 7320U - CPU-Z

In this post, well describe the AMD Radeon 610M laptop graphics processor. The post includes the basic info about the 610M, some benchmark results for comparison against other popular laptop graphics and some gameplay videos to demonstrate its gaming perfomance.

What is AMD Radeon 610M

The AMD Radeon 610M is an integrated graphics processor found in the AMD Ryzen series lower-end main processors for laptops. For example, Ryzen 3 7320U / 3 30 and Ryzen 5 7520U / 5 40.

The Radeon 610M belongs to the lower-end of the IGP category. IGPs by design rather have the main purpose to just manage displays that provide good gaming performance. The 610M is no exception. Furthermore, it is slower than IGPs found in the typical mid-range laptop processors, such as the Radeon Vega 7 and 8 of the Ryzen 5 7530U and 7 7730U or the Intel Iris Xe graphics of the Intel Core 5 / 7.

That shows in GPU benchmarks.

Here’s how the Radeon 610M compares to other frequently used laptop graphics processors in the PassMark G3D Mark benchmarks.

Note: Big gaps in the benchmark scores don’t necessarily mean the difference is proportionally big in the real-life use.

The 610M is near the bottom of the list. That’s understandable, because it is primarily budget and power efficiency oriented. Nevertheless, you can play many of the popular game titles on it, as shown in the videos below.

AMD Radeon 610M Gaming Performance Videos

For these gameplay videos, we used the AMD Ryzen 3 7320U, also known as the Ryzen 3 30, processor. Its Radeon 610M graphics can be also found in the somewhat faster Ryzen 5 7520U, also known as the Ryzen 5 40. The difference between the two CPUs in gaming shouldn’t be too noticeable, although the Ryzen 5 variant has a faster main processing unit.

Unfortunately, our test laptop, a Lenovo V14 configuration with the Ryzen 3 7320U, has only 8GB of RAM and Radeon 610M IGP uses 2GB of it by default. RAM not upgradable on our laptop, so we wont be able to test it with 16GB RAM, which is recommended for gaming and everyday Windows 11 use. But more often than not, the 610M is used in exactly these kind of budget non-upgradeable 8GB RAM laptops. Thankfully, in these systems RAM is typically dual-channel, meaning better gaming and overall performance than with single-channel.

Minecraft on AMD Radeon 610M

As you can see, the “vanilla” Minecraft Java version without 3rd party shaders runs fairly smooth, with average fps of around 75. That’s with a render distance of the default 16 chunks.

But as opposed to vanilla, running Minecraft with beautifying shader packs, stresses the 610M a lot. For example, the popular Complementary Reimagined shader pack allows Minecraft to run on only 14 fps on average. And that’s on the lowest “Potato” graphics detail settings of the shader pack.

Roblox on Radeon 610M

Another very popular title that doesn’t require a dedicated video card to run well is Roblox. With the Radeon 610M, we were able to achieve typically between 45 – 50 fps in some casual Roblox games, with graphics set to max quality.

Fortnite or Radeon 610M

Fortnite is a bit heavier title than Minecraft and Roblox, but the Radeon 610M was able to run it. True, on the lowest possible graphics detail settings and lowest 720p resolution. Under these conditions, fps was mostly around 40 45 fps, depending on the scene. There was a room for further fps improvement by lowering the “Minimum 3D Resolution” option in the game settings, but with degraded image quality.

League of Legends

League of Legends is another-non demanding game hardware-wise. For the Radeon 610M and Full HD resolution, the graphic quality option was set to Medium by the game automatically, delivering around 70 fps on average. We increased the quality to Very High and fps in our test was around 60 most of the time.

Rocket League

Rocket League runs reasonably well. too. On Full HD resolution and settings set to Quality instead of the top Hight Quality we were able to get quite fluid ~50 fps, with ability to increase fps by reducing the graphics quality and resolution.

These gameplay videos indicate what you can run with the Radeon 610M. If you want us to test a specific game, please ask in the comment section below. But, we should be realistic, since many of the AAA titles are not playable at all on this budget integrated graphics processor.
