Nvidia GeForce MX450 Entry-Level Video Card

The Nvidia GeForce MX450 is an entry-level graphics card for laptops. Although it’s a basic video card, it’s faster than the common integrated graphics processors like the Intel UHD or AMD Radeon Vega series. On the other hand, it greatly lags behind the gaming-class graphics cards such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX or RTX series.

Generally, one can say the MX450 provides better gaming smoothness than the usual integrated graphics processors. These can be used for non-demanding game titles or select heavier games on low graphics detail settings. But, they can’t provide enough power for smooth playing the latest high-end game titles on high settings and resolutions.

There are multiple variants of the MX450. The basic ones that consume 12 Watts of power are noticeably slower than those with 25- and 28.5-Watt power consumption.

  1. Can this gfx chip support 8k externally, via thunderbolt4 for instance? Why are gfx chips’ specs pages so obsessed with gaming, and so little on these crucial aspects. cheers.
